John L. Meade, MD, FACEP

Training

I received my BS from the University of South Alabama, then my MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. I remained at UAB Medical Center, in Birmingham, for another two years, training in General Surgery.
After concluding my calling was in Emergency Medicine, I moved to Florida. I completed a 3-year residency in Emergency Medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center, and am certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

I have had a varied and extensive background in Emergency Medicine. This includes Chief of Emergency Medicine at a medium-sized ED, EMS Medical Director (tactical/SWAT, ground and helicopter), Owner of an independent EM group, Owner of a medical billing service, and staff emergency physician at a Trauma Center.

I have been an instructor of many different courses (ATLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.). I often review cases for the State and Federal officials regarding EMTALA issues, and have occasionally been an expert witness in EM and EMS cases.
