Lima, Peru

The second Medical/Dental Mission trip to Lima was another major success, enabling much-needed medical and dental care to be brought to those in need. Our team was large and varied, including several physicians, nurses and others.

The two plastic surgery teams worked at a regional children’s’ hospital in Lima, performing 20 operations. These ranged from repairing various congenital malformations to revising burn scars. Additionally, we ran pediatric and adult primary care clinics in two of the shantytown areas on the outskirts of Lima (Project Hope and Huaycan). All together, we treated 300-400 patients. More than anything, we brought love and hope to the desperately poor and ill. We found blessings rained down on ourselves, while we were trying to share God's blessings with others.
